Helinox Ground Chair
is clearly distinguished from the other models in the Chair series by its construction. Instead of traditional point legs, it uses a wide, square base with corner reinforcements that distribute the weight evenly. The result: the chair does not sink into soft ground in the same way as classic camping chairs. The low seat height (about 10-12 cm above the ground) allows for a more relaxed and extended sitting position - perfect for cooking, campfires or resting your legs after a long day. At the same time, the backrest provides full support, making it significantly more comfortable than sitting directly on the ground.
More about the Helinox Ground Chair
The chair is built in DAC aluminum, which provides high strength-to-weight ratio. The shock-corded tube design allows it to be assembled quickly and intuitively, even in the field. In practice, the Ground Chair falls somewhere between ultralight and comfort:
Heavier than Chair Zero → but significantly more stable
Lower than other models → but better for relaxation
Less sensitive to surfaces → works where others sink
It is therefore a clear choice for:
- beach, sand, snow or soft woodland
- canoeing, bikepacking and camping where the surface varies
- users who want to be able to stretch their legs and lean back
