More about the Philips TAR3500/00 Emergency Radio IP55

During extended power outages, being able to receive information and keep essential equipment powered is an important part of emergency preparedness. The Philips TAR3500/00 can be powered and charged in several ways: via USB-C, the integrated solar panel, the hand crank or AAA batteries. This provides several alternatives when mains electricity is unavailable.

The built-in rechargeable battery has a capacity of 5,200 mAh and provides up to 60 hours of radio listening at medium volume when fully charged. The radio also features a power bank function with a USB-A output for charging mobile phones and other small electronic devices. The stated power bank capacity is 2,600 mAh.

The radio features digital tuning for both AM and FM, as well as a clear LED display. The telescopic antenna is 550 mm long and helps improve reception, which can be particularly useful in areas with weaker radio signals.

For emergencies, there is an easily accessible emergency button on the side of the radio. When activated, a powerful siren sounds while a flashing light and ultrasonic whistle help attract attention.

The TAR3500/00 also functions as portable lighting. It features both a built-in flashlight for finding your way in the dark and a separate reading light that can be used for reading, working or illuminating a small area during a power outage. A 3.5 mm headphone jack also allows you to listen to the radio without using the built-in speaker.

The enclosure is IP55 rated, providing protection against dust and water jets and making the radio better suited for outdoor use. The 530 mm carrying strap makes it easy to carry the radio or hang it inside a tent, vehicle or shelter.

The combination of long battery life, four power options, radio, lighting and emergency functions makes the Philips TAR3500/00 a versatile choice for an emergency kit, car, caravan or camping equipment.
