It's 1919. In the heart of the Japanese Ono region, the sound of hammering from the blacksmith Katsuji Miyawaki echoes on the surrounding mountains. The first Silky saw was born. One hundred years later, the third generation of Miyawaki forges saws of unparalleled quality. The hammers have evolved into the most modern, patented technologies – passion and commitment remain. From arborist high in the tree to gardener in the backyard. From bushcrafter deep into the forest to furniture carpenter in the workshop. All over the world, many enthusiasts rely on silky saws.
A company specializing in saw manufacturing since 1919. Unique technology and design have resulted in many models of Silky saws with very sharp inserts for efficient sawing.
The silky saws saw in the draw position, as you pull the saw towards you. Sawing in drag mode requires less energy and gives you more control over the sawing.
The saw blades for all Silky saws are made of authentic Japanese steel and cut out with lasers. Since the blade does not have to withstand pressure (i.e. on the push), they can be made very thin, which in combination with the special toothing makes the cut in the timber extremely fine. The blades are very hard but remain flexible thanks to the soft core of the metal. The high carbon content leads to high wear resistance, so that the sharpness persists for a very long time.
