Katadyn Aquifer 3000 M
is designed to provide a local and reliable supply of drinking water in environments where water quality and infrastructure cannot be taken for granted. The system can purify seawater, brackish water, and freshwater and uses high-performance energy recovery in combination with reverse osmosis for seawater. Salt rejection is rated at 99.5%.
In high-speed mode, the system produces up to 3,000 U.S. gallons—equivalent to 11,356 liters—per day, or 473 liters per hour. There is also a low-speed mode with a capacity of 1,600 gallons, equivalent to 6,056 liters per day. The lower operating mode is intended for applications such as solar-powered operation, reduced fuel consumption, challenging raw water conditions, or situations where low noise levels are important.
More about the Katadyn Aquifer 3000 M
The Aquifer 3000 M is designed for quick setup and can be transported and assembled by two people. The system requires no tools for assembly and features a self-priming function that can draw water from depths of up to 3 meters. A digital salinity measurement kit is included, and the control box is fully integrated.
Based on an estimated water consumption of 22 liters per person per day, the system is stated to be capable of supplying up to 500 people. Katadyn also states that the system’s integrated energy recovery reduces electricity and fuel consumption by more than half compared to traditional reverse osmosis systems.
According to Katadyn, the system filters out salts, bacteria, viruses, parasites, and organic contaminants. The equipment is stored in military-standard transport cases and is designed for minimal maintenance after use.
