How does the filter work?

The Captivator Adsorption Media is an electroadsorptive filter (Strong electric fields acting on the surface layers of a semiconductor gas sensor can change its adsorption characteristics for gases and thus its sensor behavior) with a very strong positive charge potential. The charge is neither electrostatic nor a result of chemical treatment. Instead, the medium itself has an electrokinetic potential that naturally generates a charge field created by the mineral Pseudoboehmite when the medium is wet.
